Apple Music can sometimes start playing on its own when you connect Bluetooth devices, plug in headphones, or use CarPlay. If you want to stop this behavior, follow these steps.
1. Turn Off Auto-Play in Apple Music
- Open the Apple Music app.
- Play a song and tap the Now Playing bar.
- Tap the Autoplay (∞) icon (it looks like an infinity symbol).
- If it’s highlighted, tap it to turn off autoplay.

2. Stop Apple Music from Starting in CarPlay
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions.
- Select Allowed Apps and turn off CarPlay.
3. Prevent Auto-Play via Bluetooth
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the i next to your connected device.
- Disable Auto-Play Audio (if available).
4. Check and Remove Automations
- Open the Shortcuts app.
- Go to Automation and check if there’s a shortcut that starts Apple Music.
- If found, delete or disable the automation.
5. Adjust Siri & Handoff Settings
- Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff.
- Turn off Handoff.
- Then, go to Settings > Siri & Search > Apple Music.
- Disable Show App in Search and Suggestions.
6. Delete Apple Music (If Necessary)
If none of these steps work, you can remove Apple Music:
- Press and hold the Apple Music app on the home screen.
- Tap Remove App > Delete App.
- Use an alternative music app instead.
Following these steps should stop Apple Music from playing automatically.
